I thought this was an ingenious use of the Anvil over web app software and the Energenie smart plugs until my stepson pointed out that a similar project appeared in one of the episodes of the Big Bang theory, over 10 years ago! Apparently, Sheldon gets overly excited when a fellow colleague from China controls the lamps in Sheldon’s US apartment. (I've never seen it though ) Still it is a fun hack as you can interact in real time controlling my lamps, causing me a headache whilst at the same time watching a live stream of you turning the lamp on or off and my reaction.
